Belong CheckIn gives venue operators and event organisers a QR-based way to confirm attendance as visitors arrive. For meetups, free community visits, and other events that need simple attendance tracking, the Free check-in mode lets a visitor scan the venue QR and confirm attendance without payment.
That confirmation is different from simply making an event or issuing access. Belong supports event creation, ticketed events, event-week pages, and public event maps, while CheckIn provides the attendance step at the venue. In NFT ticket mode, a visitor must hold or buy the event ticket NFT before check-in. In Free check-in mode, the arrival flow does not require payment.
The app brings the arrival record into the same public experience as venues, events, communities, wallets, rewards, and AI-assisted creation. Visitors can review their CheckIn history from the wallet and CheckIn areas. Venue operators can review recent requests and reward activity connected to their venues.
Belong CheckIn supports one primary access mode per venue or hub. Alongside Free check-in, the available modes are Venue payment, NFT ticket, and NFT membership. Venue payment is designed for restaurants, bars, cafes, venues, and paid local experiences. NFT ticket mode supports conferences, concerts, ticketed events, and gated entry, while NFT membership mode supports clubs, communities, recurring programmes, and member-only spaces.
For an organiser focused on arrivals, the key capability is straightforward: the visitor completes the check-in flow at the venue, and the operator has CheckIn records and recent requests to review. The exact visitor journey depends on the primary mode configured for that venue or hub.
Belong CheckIn supports regular (non-NFT) tickets as well as NFT tickets. Regular ticket payments use Stripe Connect: the buyer pays by card and receives a ticket registration and entry QR, without needing an NFT collection or crypto funding for the purchase. NFT tickets use the configured NFT checkout partner, which can also offer card payments as well as crypto where supported. Paying by card does not determine the ticket format.
The venue's direct payment-request QR is a separate flow. Use the payment methods offered in that venue's checkout; enabling Stripe for event tickets does not automatically enable Stripe for every venue payment or bracelet top-up. Read the Belong CheckIn payment routes before choosing which route to describe to guests.
The venue also has a payment account, shown in the interface as a venue wallet. Operators can add reward balance, view the payment network, copy the address, and see whether the venue is active. Guest access and email sign-in are supported, and visitors can choose more advanced wallet-backed flows when they connect or create a wallet.
Free check-in is the clearest fit for meetup hosts, community organisers, and venues that want simple attendance tracking without asking visitors to pay. It keeps the arrival action focused on scanning the venue QR and confirming attendance.
Ticketed event organisers can use NFT ticket mode when visitors must hold or buy an event ticket NFT before check-in. This connects hub access with paid event tickets and ticket tiers. If no ticket event is attached, the app can guide the organiser into chat-assisted paid event setup.
Clubs and recurring programmes can use NFT membership mode when entry depends on a membership NFT. Restaurants, bars, cafes, and paid local experiences can use Venue payment when check-in belongs with a payment flow. Because each venue or hub has one primary access mode, organisers should select the mode that matches the visitor requirement at entry.
The venue controls are useful when the organiser needs more than an unrestricted QR scan. Daily check-in limits can constrain check-ins by day. Location or QR-based verification settings determine how the visit is verified.
Consider a free community meetup using Free check-in. The organiser makes the venue QR available at the entrance, and each arriving visitor scans it and confirms attendance without payment. The operator can review recent requests during the event, and later review CheckIn activity associated with the venue.
For a ticketed conference or concert, the organiser can instead select NFT ticket mode. A visitor must hold or buy the event ticket NFT before check-in, so the ticket requirement and the check-in step remain part of the same event flow. For a member-only gathering, NFT membership mode applies the equivalent requirement to a membership NFT.
If the event also uses an event-week page, Belong supports public event maps that can be shared and that prioritise active location context when available. These event surfaces sit alongside the CheckIn flow rather than replacing the visitor confirmation at entry.
Read the Belong CheckIn App Features guide to compare CheckIn modes, venue settings, rewards, sign-in options, tickets, and event surfaces.
Open Belong CheckIn to use the public app experience. Choose the primary mode for the venue or hub, configure the applicable limit and verification settings, and make the venue QR available for the visitor flow.
Yes. Free check-in lets a visitor scan the venue QR and confirm attendance without payment. The docs identify meetups, free community visits, and simple attendance tracking as suitable uses.
Venue operators can review recent requests and reward activity tied to their venues. Visitors can also review their own CheckIn history from the wallet and CheckIn areas.
A regular paid ticket uses its issued registration and entry QR; an NFT ticket uses configured NFT access verification. Free check-in records attendance without payment. Choose the route that matches the event and its actual ticket format.
No. Regular tickets can be paid by card through Stripe Connect and issue a ticket registration and entry QR. NFT tickets use the configured NFT checkout partner, which can also accept cards where enabled. The payment method and ticket format are separate choices.
